For the last 97 years, MLS Tree Service, located in Plymouth, Michigan, has been serving southeast Michigan homeowners, specializing in tree maintenance, removal, and catastrophe.
President, Jeff Doyle, has relied on Vermeer equipment since making his first purchase of a 630B towable stump cutter in 1978. It became the first residential piece of Vermeer tree care equipment sold in Michigan. Since then, Jeff has purchased a variety of brush chippers, stump grinders, and now this Teupen TC69 Spider Lift.
Similarly to Vermeer Midwest, MLS Tree Service is a third generation family-owned business. Jeff Doyle learned the business from his father and grandfather who founded MLS Tree Services in Kentucky. As time progressed, they grew and moved to Michigan in 1975 and have been there ever since.
“The reason we choose to do business with Vermeer Midwest is because their equipment is good, but it’s also because of the service. Their service is phenomenal. As long as their service stays at its current level, we will always be a Vermeer Midwest customer.” – Jeff Doyle, President
After purchasing the Teupen TC69A, productivity and efficiency has improved for MLS Tree Service. The last lift they owned had problems with reliability and service. They quickly realized they needed a new lift, one with more capacity, height, reach, and that could easily be serviced.
Initially, Jeff was concerned with the complexity, geometry, and width of the two-man platform on the Teupen lift. However, this machine proved him otherwise. Jeff states,
“The ability of the two-man platform to rotate narrow has allowed for 20-30% more work. It affords me greater reach and to get into a narrower area.”
